A Tribute

I want to dedicate this brief post to someone I never met, but was strongly influenced by (as were all hikers of certain trails in northcentral PA), and that is Bob Webber. He passed away last week (April 21 2015) at the age of 80. The below link describes the man better than I can:

 If you did not click on those links suffice it to say Bob was the true spirit behind some of the best trails in northcentral PA and perhaps the whole state (sorry AT lovers). If you hiked (as I have) the Black Forest Trail (considered by many as the finest backpacking trail in PA), Golden Eagle Trail (considered the best day hike in PA) or the aptly named Bob Webber Trail, you have experienced Bob's handiwork and great handiwork it is. I know that from now on every time I set foot on one of those trails I will remember the man I never met, but truly appreciate his tremendous contribution to hiking and enjoyment of the wild parts of PA.
