Pine Creek Rail Trail Day-hike
I am writing this many months after the actual hike due to a busy normal life. But, I will briefly describe=be the last day-hike of 2017. In this case the hike was on another segment of the Pine Creek Rail Trail. I hiked/walked the segment between Slate Run and just south of Blackwell. I started out at the Rattlesnake Rock (No, there are no rattlesnakes to be seen there at all) access area about a mile south of Blackwell. It was not busy like the Blackwell access area often is. The weather was nice, blue skies and a decent temperature. And the fall foliage was in full swing.

I will let the pictures provide the narrative.

Although there s no picture here I reached the village of Slate Run and ate my lunch beside the trail near the village. Slate Run is close to the Black Forest trail loop and its nominal starting point. A side note - When I backpacked the Black Forest Trail I did not start at Slate Run, instead I started near the northern end of the loop by the county line.

I did do a short hike on one of the side trails, but there are no pictures.
This hike made a decent bookend to my 2017 hiking season.
